Grain Sampler
Dengie Crops Ltd are looking for a reliable person to assist in the sampling of grain from farms around Essex from harvest 16.
The position will be available from mid July 16 through to October 16, so may suit a student or retiree.
Ideally the candidate will be available not only for this harvest, but for future harvests, allowing a good working knowledge of the job and farms to develop and to be able to build relationships with farmers.
The role will involve liaising with farmers and the office to plan grain sampling routes. Once on farm the candidate will have the physically active job of climbing up grain heaps and spearing grain. The role could also include some laboratory work at other times of the year.
The candidate will need to have a flexible approach to working hours.
Applicants must also be 21+ years old, hold a full driver’s licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Weighbridge/Laboratory Staff
Dengie Crops Ltd requires 3 personnel to work in their weighbridge department during grain harvest.
The job entails weighing, analysing and grading grains and pulses as well as other weighbridge/laboratory activities, for which full training will be given for all aspects of the role.
This role would ideally suit a young person/student looking for summer employment.
The incumbent must be:
- 18 years old at start of harvest.
- Willing and flexible.
- Prepared to work long hours and weekends during peak periods.
